SEIE offers Bachelor’s degrees of five majors, including Communication Engineering, Electronics and Information Engineering, Information Security, Remote Sensing, and Electromagnetic Field and Wireless Technology. SEIE is one of the first few Chinese schools authorized to confer Master’s degree and Doctor’s degree with a first-level discipline of Information and Communication Engineering and a second-level discipline of Microwave Technology. Currently, there are 1021 undergraduate students, 337 graduate students and 301 Ph.D. candidates in our school. In 2007, the second-level of Communication and Information Systems was classified to the national key discipline. In 2016, the discipline of Information and Communication Engineering ranked No.7 in the First-level Discipline Evaluation of the Ministry of Education. As an important part of Control Science and Engineering disciplinary cluster and Computer Science and Technology disciplinary cluster, SEIE was selected into the world-class discipline construction list in 2017.

Currently, there are 162 faculty members, including one Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, two Talents of Thousand Talents Plan, one awardee of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, one Talent of Thousand Talents Plan for Young Professionals, one awardee of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, 53 professors and 65 associate professors. Academician Yongtan Liu is the nationally well-known expert in the field of radar and electronic information systems. SEIE has formed a comprehensive and stable disciplinary framework of prominent aerospace and electronics information features, including emerging system radar, space information network, mobile communication system and mobile Internet, high resolution earth observation, microwave metamaterials, and microwave/millimeter-wave imaging. SEIE obtained the first-class National Scientific and Technological Progress Award 2 times, the second-class National Scientific and Technological Progress Award 3 times and dozens of Provincial and Ministerial Level Awards.
