Since its establishment in 2011, the School of Marxism has adhered to the educational policy of the Communist Party of China (CPC), implemented various arrangements of the Party, the country and the university earnestly, and practiced the motto of HIT “Rigor and Mastery” throughout actively. It has made gratifying achievements in teaching, discipline, scientific research, and team, many of which are zero break in the whole school, the whole university, the whole province and even the whole country. At present, there are 72 full-time teachers in our school, working in three campuses of Harbin, Weihai and Shenzhen. 

From 2015 till now, its faculty have presided 14 projects of The National Social Science Fund of China, One key project supported by the national publishing fund, One project supported by cultural experts of the Publicity Department of the CPC and the self-selected funding projects of the "four batch" talents, One major project of the European research base of the humanities and social sciences funded by the Ministry of Education, one special project of Marxist Theory Research and Development Project of the Ministry of Education.

 Its teachers published 48 academic papers in top journals and authoritative newspapers such as Marxism Research, Marxism and Reality, Philosophy Research, Guangming Daily, etc., and published 20 academic works in national level publishing houses such as China Social Sciences Press, won one second batch of leading talents of Philosophy and Social Sciences in the National Ten Thousand Talents Plan, one cultural experts of the Publicity Department of the CPC and the self-selected funding projects of the "four batch" talents, two National College Ideological and Political Teaching Model and one National Backbone of the Teaching, one first prize and one second prize in the National College Ideological and political teaching demonstration activities. In 2016, due to outstanding achievements in teaching reform, personnel training, discipline construction, scientific research and social services, the School of Marxism was awarded the first batch of Key Marxist Colleges in Heilongjiang Province (only 5 School in the province).

In 2018, it was also awarded the top-grade project of Philosophy and Social Sciences Discipline System Innovation Engineering Discipline in Heilongjiang Province" (only 2 School of Marxism in the province were selected). In terms of discipline construction, there are two firstclass discipline master's programs Marxist theory and Philosophy, and one doctoral training direction of Marxist Sociology (Marxist theory and social practice), which form a Marxist discipline group, reflecting the characteristics of interdisciplinary and integration, and are vigorously impacting the doctoral degree in first-class discipline of Marxist theory. In the scientific research, there are two symbolic highlights of teachers:

First, Professor Xu Fengzhen was selected as the second batch of leading talents of Philosophy and Social Sciences in the National Ten Thousand Talents Plan in 2016, which is a zero break in ideological and political circles in Heilongjiang Province. Since 2015, he has published seven papers in Guangming Daily, 15 papers in CSSCI journals such as Marxism and Reality, Journal of Social Sciences of Jilin University, Contemporary World and Socialism, presided over 11 national, provincial and ministerial level topics such as general projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, and won 7 national and provincial teaching and scientific research awards, including the second batch of leading talents in philosophy and Social Sciences in the National Ten Thousand Talents Plan, the cultural experts of the Publicity Department of the CPC and the self-selected funding projects of the "four batch" talents. At the same time, Professor Xu visited the People's Network and hundred forums of the socialist core values of the Publicity Department of the CPC, and gave a special lecture titled "Life of Marx and Introduction to Marxism" for the central group of Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee. She was invited to do more than 100 reports, teaching observation, teaching reform report and academic research for teachers, students, cadres, soldiers and employees in many parts of the country. 

Many magazines, such as Domestic Dynamic Sample, Internal Reference, Guangming Daily and China Comment, reported Xu's preaching deeds for many times, calling it "Xu Fengzhen phenomenon". The Secretary of Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee made important instructions twice, calling on ideological and political teachers of the whole province to learn from Xu. Second, Professor Ye Ping chaired the major project of the National Social Science Foundation "Research on the History of Chinese Ecological Philosophy Thoughts in the Past 40 Years", which is mainly to sort out and interpret the historical process of Chinese ecological philosophy in the past 40 years, the difficulty is from the initial ecological world view Xu Fengzhen was selected as the second batch of leading talents of Philosophy and Social Sciences in the National Ten Thousand Talents Plan in 2016. to today's ecological civilization, from theoretical discussion to national strategy, what are the development stages of Chinese Ecological Philosophy; what is the concept debate; how it integrates Chinese and Western perspectives; how representative thoughts evolve; how ecological philosophy permeates and applies in ecology; environmental science, river science, geographic science, forestry, natural conservation, landscape and earth science, etc., providing historical support for Chinese ecological civilization theory and new historical disciplines for ecological civilization education.
